RE: Electric brake controller wiring on a Jayco Seneca HD Kodiak

ASA Glamis might correct me on this , but if I remember right there is a white plug in the loom where you will find the blunt cut blue wire inside the taped loom, more clearly there are two big wire looms together behind the removable fenderwell, I found the wire in the one with the white plug.

RE: Clogged fresh water!

Mobyman, If the pump is running but not building enough pressure to run water, it might be algae plugging up your pump screen. I had that happen before and it was easy to fix, right in front of the pump see if you have a clear filter in the line, if so it unscrews from the pump and may need cleaning.

RE: Help! Light kit install problems Honda CRV dinghy toad

An add on to LK33 post would be, try not grounding to the body at all, instead carry the white wire all the way back to the plug and continue to the motorhome thru your connecter cable, trying to ground a tow vehicle or trailer thru the hitch can often lead to ground problems, i.e. dim lights, etc. Make sure you did not disturb any of the vehicle wiring including the ground, and check those screws to be sure they didn't hit a wire by mistake.

RE: Questions for Seneca owners

Here is a thought on the 8000 vs 6000 watt generator, the onan manual has a section in it that talks about how much wattage you lose at higher altitudes. It is substantial and I used that info to justify the larger generator.

RE: Trailer Brake Help Jayco Seneca C5500 Kodiak

Have any of you guys tried to use the body builder plug, and if so do you have to buy the connecters and seal parts to add wires to that plug or are they already in the plug?

RE: Weird problem 31ss

You might try to set the thermostat at a lower temp then the inside which will make it cycle to shut down. My 34SS also resets the target temp on the thermostat to 72 deg. after the house power has been shut off and then turned on again. If you set the temp at say 55 deg. to keep heat in to stop freezing and the power gets shut off for what ever reason, when you start up the power again the furnace might be trying to run till it reaches its new default temp not the one in your mind. Hope it's this simple.

RE: TV doesn't work with ignition on?????????

Do a quick check to see that the same interlock doesn't disconnect the power to the automatic step retraction feature. I read where someone on this site figured out how to keep the auto in steps after he bypassed the tv interlock.

RE: Slideout lock question

We only use the locks on the living room slide, and usually only on rougher roads, what bugs me is trying to get them in without scratching the cealing or the rubber membrane roof over the slide. Most of the time they stay under the dining bench where they belong.

RE: Had to post a pic of the B in Socal. Ain't it purdy.

John and Angela,
I suspect you probably know what it feels like to be sitting somewhere cold, packing wood to the stove as fast as you can, and then coming across someones pic,s of their current location in a tropical paradise. My wife and I enjoyed your site and the pic,s . The only question we have is , where do we sign up for one of those spots in Palm Springs, those are nice!! Have fun in Mexico, We will be watching for future reports.

RE: An observation

That's it, you got 26m here. Tell Ray I said hi, your deal sounds about like what I paid too. I know it is a lot of money but I think it is a lot of bang for the buck. Keep adding up those weight limits too, you probably will be trading up when those young speedsters need bigger bikes, wait a minute, what about that tent?? The kids can sleep in that... LOL... 26m

RE: An observation

We went with the Seneca 34ss. I didn't start out with one on my short list, but after tromping through a million different MH's I kept coming back to it for a lot of reasons. I probably still would not have bought one until I happened across a dealer who made me a good enough deal on one that it all of a sudden seemed possible. It is top heavy and drives like it, but after reading on this site about how others have dealt with the issue I decided it wasn't a deal killer for me. When I go somewhere in it I am not in a hurry, to me the drive is part of the adventure, so I just wave at 9c when he blows by me. Driving carefully has also kept my mileage between 10 and 11 mpg. I'm not towing a big trailer now, but have room to grow, probably will set up my jeep to tow also. My future plans include using it for stays for 2 to 3 months at a time during winter trips to AZ. We also have a truck camper, staying in it for a 3 week trip was tough, that convinced me that I needed more room. I drove the MH to Colorado and back over some interesting mountain roads and in some high winds. You can,t say enough about the exhaust brake, but will admit to some white knuckles in the wind, but still nothing too scary. Kind of funny that we are so worried about a safe driving MH to drive to a desert race and line up on a bomb run with a hundred or so other wild eyed idiots that can't wait to ride a dirt bike at speeds close to 90mph over terrain they can barely see. Go figure RRR

RE: An observation

Sorry , but if you think about it Equalizer means just that, it will take the load and transfer it equally through the hitch. So just bite the bullet and buy a super c like we did when we got to this same juncture. Or an A class that will have an even better tow rating.

RE: An observation

I'm not sure an EQ hitch will solve your problem, might just hide your problem in the extended frame rails. Also I have read somewhere on this site that some of the hitches on motor homes are not to be used with EQ hitches. 31 ft.is a long way to try to move that weight , I'm not sure but I don't think the weight will go forward, more likely it will transfer to your trailer, overloading that frame and tires.
